5 Tips to Thrift Shopping

October 14, 2015

Hi!

Surprise surprise a post that is not about my hair! Lately I've had the urge to go to Goodwill a lot and it probably has to do with the fact that none of my jeans fit anymore:( I enjoy thrift shopping because I always find good stuff for even better prices. I have purchased a handful of name brand items in mint condition (and sometimes even new) for less than ten bucks! Thrift shopping is fun but it takes some patience to get use to and "master".

Here are 5 simple tips I recommend to making thrift shopping easier:

  1. Dress comfortably- Don't wear your tightest jeans and heels; you won't want to try anything on and be uncomfortable .
  2. Have an idea of what your shopping for- Go in with a plan to find sweaters or black pants for example. Narrowing down what you want to shop for will cut down your time there.
  3. Bring a set amount of cash- This will help you stick to just buying what you planned on and not overspending
  4. Be on the lookout for special sales- I got an extra 25% off my purchase just by showing my school ID!
  5. Wash everything after bringing it home (duh)- This one is kind of a no-brainer. Wash any clothes before wearing it just to keep things sanitary.

*The leggings and grey jacket I have on in the bottom left are both from goodwill:)
